The Staff
We are a very small organisation: currently there are just two of us working part-time from home! So we’re a virtual ‘Centre’ rather than a building you can visit. Sarah Maguire, the Director, founded the PTC in January 2004. Deborah Bourne, our Company Manager, began working with us in early 2007. The PTC was based at the School of Oriental & African Studies in London for the first two years. Now, thanks to Arts Council support, we’re a flourishing independent organisation and a registered charity.
Sarah Maguire, Director

Sarah Maguire founded the PTC in 2004. A distinguished British poet, she has published four poetry collections, including Spilt Milk (1991) and The Pomegranates of Kandahar (2007) and is editor of the anthology Flora Poetica: The Chatto Book of Botanical Verse (2001). Her poems have been translated into Arabic, Italian, Malayalam, Spanish, and Uzbek. She was the first writer to visit Palestine and Yemen for the British Council.
Deborah Bourne, Company Manager

Deborah Bourne is an experienced arts manager who began her career in publishing and small scale arts organisations before moving into development and policy roles. After going freelance in 2004, Deborah undertook projects for a wide range of clients in the arts and media sectors. She has worked with the PTC since 2007.
