David Huerta, Jamie McKendrick


David Huerta was born in Mexico City in 1949. Since publishing his first collection of poems in 1972, he has won numerous awards including the Xavier Villaurrutia Prize in 2005 for his lifetime contribution to Mexican literature. He writes a regular column for the Mexican magazine Proceso and runs literary workshops at the Casa del Lago of the National Autonomous University of Mexico.

Jamie McKendrick has published five books of poems, including The Marble Fly (winner of the Forward Prize), and Crocodiles & Obelisks. His translations from Italian include Giorgio Bassani's novel The Garden of the Finzi-Continis and The Embrace, a selection of Valerio Magrelli's poems.

Tom Boll teaches in the department of Spanish and Spanish American Studies at King's College London. His Octavia Paz and T.S. Eliot: Modern Poetry and the Translation of Influence will be published by Legenda in 2010.
