Toeti Heraty Poems
Toeti Heraty was born in 1933. She is an outstanding poet, a human rights activist, a philosopher, an art collector and is well known for both her opposition to the Suharto regime and her feminism. Her poetry collections include Sajak-Sajak 33 (1974), Mimpi Dan Pretensi (1982), Calon Arang (2000) and A Time, a Season (2003).
Carole Satyamurti has published five books of poetry, including Broken Moon (1987), Changing the Subject (1990) and Striking Distance (1994). Her most recent collection is Stitching the Dark: New and Selected Poems (2005).
Ulrich Kratz is Professor of Indonesian and Malay at SOAS. He has published widely on literature in Malay and Indonesia, and his particular interests are Indonesian poetry and traditional Malay philology.
