PTC Workshop: Translate Georgian Women Poets with Natalia Bukia-Peters

Natalia Bukia-Peters returns for another session translating women poets from Georgia. In previous sessions Natalia has introduced the PTC workshops to a range of interesting voices from Georgia including Diana Anphimiadi, Eka Kevanishvili, Tea Topuria and Dato Magradze. This session will be run by UK poet Clare Pollard.

Natalia Bukia-Peters is a translator, interpreter and teacher of Russian and Georgian. She has translated literary works from English into Russian for the British Council. Her translation of the short story, ‘Sex for Fridge' by Zurab Lezhava, from Georgian into English, in collaboration with Victoria Field, features in Best European Fiction 2011 from Dalkey Archive Press.

Clare Pollard is an award winning UK poet, She has published four collections with Bloodaxe Books, latest is Incarnation. She has extensive experience as a translator, co-translating Caasha Lul Mohamud Yusuf for the PTC. Clare also mentors for New Writing North, and is a core tutor on the new Poetry School/University of Newcastle Poetry MA.
