Regular attenders agreed that this was one of the most fascinating - and most successful - workshops we've ever held. It was a real privilege to have Víctor Terán and his translator David Shook with us.
In the course of the workshop, we learned a great deal about Isthmus Zapotec and how David goes about translating Víctor's poems and about the remarkable culture and literary heritage from which Víctor's poems spring.
We translated two of Víctor's poems in the workshop: 'Frog' and 'Moon'. The notes on the translated poem page explain how we arrived at our versions.
