Podcast featuring Al-Saddiq Al-Raddi from Sudan
The PTC's first podcast features the poems of Al-Saddiq Al-Raddi from Sudan who writes in Arabic. His poems are translated by Sarah Maguire and Sabry Hafez.
The recording includes seven different poems: read first in English translation by Sarah Maguire and then in Arabic by Saddiq. The poems are read in the same order as they appear in the chapbook of Saddiq's poems that we published in 2008. Saddiq is one of the PTC's most popular poets and if you listen to this podcast you'll understand why. He reads his beautiful poems exquisitely in Arabic and even for non-Arabic speakers, the musicality of his reading makes for compelling listening.
