New Podcast featuring Corsino Fortes from Cape Verde

Corsino Fortes is widely considered to be the leading African Lusophone poet writing today. His bold, powerful poems incorporate Cape Verdean dialect. Their publication occurred during the extraordinary cultural efflorescence that accompanied decolonisation, to which his work made a significant contribution.

On our latest podcast you will hear Corsino read his poems in Portuguese alongside his co-translator, the prize-winning British poet, Sean O'Brien. Corsino's poems were translated by Sean working closely with Daniel Hahn.
