7,000 Poem Podcasts Downloaded

Coral Bracho and Katherine Pierpoint reading together at the Cervantes Institute

Our series of innovative Poem Podcasts, which are released every Monday on iTunes, were launched in November 2010. At the time of writing we have released 70 individual poem podcasts attracting 7,286 downloads. Approximately 38% of these downloads were from the UK, 30% from the USA and the remaining 32% from a spread of other countries around the world.

We're constantly adding new recordings to the mix, most recently poems by María Clara Sharupi Jua from Ecuador read by the poet herself in Shuar; and poems by Caasha Lul Mohamud Yusuf read by Caasha herself in Somali and in translation by the British poet, Clare Pollard.

Each week listeners are introduced to a dazzling new poem by some of the world's best loved poets. Each Poem Podcast is read in two languages: in a superb English translation followed by the poem in its original language.
