Freelance Persian-Speaking Audience Development Co-ordinator

The Poetry Translation Centre is looking for a freelance Audience Development Co-ordinator in the lead up to its Persian Poets' Tour in May 2012. The tour will feature five poets from three countries (Afghanistan, Iran and Tajikistan), all of whom will take part in a series of readings and events across the UK.

Home based, you will be working closely with PTC Director, Sarah Maguire and liaising with Tour Manager, Julia Bird.  You will be responsible for developing a small number of initiatives to maximise audiences from the UK's Persian-speaking communities.

Knowledge of the UK's Persian-speaking communities and the ability to speak Persian (Farsi, Dari or Tajik) are essential, as are excellent communication and organisation skills, the proven ability to build excellent working relationships and to work independently. Experience of working in the arts sector would be an advantage.

Fee for services: £150 per day for an initial period of 10 days between February and April 2012.

To apply, please email your CV and a covering letter to Deborah Bourne, Company Manager at deborah@poetrytranslation.org by 12 noon on Tuesday 31st January 2012.  Interviews will take place on Thursday 9th February.

Please note, we can only consider applications from individuals who have the right to work in the UK.
