Kept On Compromising on Life

by Noshi Gillani

I continued compromising with life
I kept narrating poetry and kept blazing

Your arrival was a dream but
I kept dying with the lamps

How can I express, in this monsoon
How much I have remembered you

O urban people! In the village of breeze
How were the flowers, fragrances and lamps

You made friends with Jugnu
I kept searching for stars

Those who could not unite
Kept writing the tale of separation.
