Mamoudou Lamine Kane is a Mauritanian poet, journalist and economist. He writes for Mauritian daily newspapers and his own blog, www.mozaikrim.over-blog.com, and is director of the communication structure NEXUS PROD. His poetry gives a characteristic nod to cyclicality in form, and is political in content – covering themes such as the title of the most recent of his three published collections, Les musulmans d'Inal, which recalls an event which has marred Mauritania’s national independence day each year since 28 November 1990, when 28 men were hanged for the crime of being black. His words unstitch the fabric of his homeland, and resonate beyond.

Delaina Haslam worked as a journalist and editor before turning translator and writer. She lived and worked in Brittany, Madrid, and London, before going freelance and returning to live in Sheffield in 2015. She has written for and edited publications including InMadrid magazine and le cool London. She translates from French and Spanish, specialising in sociological texts, and experiments with literary translation from Francophone Africa.

Clare Pollard is an award winning UK poet, She has published four collections with Bloodaxe Books, latest is Incarnation. She has extensive experience as a translator, co-translating Caasha Lul Mohamud Yusuf for the PTC. Clare also mentors for New Writing North, and is a core tutor on the new Poetry School/University of Newcastle Poetry MA.
