In order to process your request as quickly as possible, please email us on permissions@poetrytranslation.org with the following information on the publication in which the translations would appear:

  • Publication type (i.e. non-commercial critical or scholarly work; print or audio/digital)
  • Publication date
  • Published price
  • Initial print run
  • Term of license
  • Publication territory
  • Do you want to display both languages or just the English translations?

Please also let us know if you require bios for the poets and translators, and if so, the desired word count.

Depending on the publication details you have provided, our permissions rates will generally be calculated as follows:

 

Fees for World English language rights

£164 for the first ten lines

£3 for the next twenty lines

£2 per line thereafter

 

Please note that we charge a minimum fee of £80 and that these fees cover one edition only.

Once we receive your request, we will be able to offer you a more accurate fee depending on your specific project.

We are a small team working part-time hours so we ask you to please allow us six weeks to respond to your request. Do feel free to follow up if you haven’t heard back after that.
