Azita Ghahreman is in London to launch her collection Negative of a Group Photograph, published in Farsi and English by the Poetry Translation Centre and Bloodaxe Books. At this free event she will share the stage with UK-based Persian poets for an intimate evening of contemporary verse in the Persian language. Hosted by poet and translator Alireza Abiz.

An enthusiastic, capacity audience heard two leading Afghan poets, Shakila Azizzada and Reza Mohammadi, read alongside their poet-translators, Mimi Khalvati and Nick Laird, while Sarah Maguire read her translations of Partaw Naderi’s poems.

The culmination of our fabulous Persian Poets’ Tour was this Gala Reading at London’s Rich Mix featured the poetry of all five Persian Poets read by their five British poet-translators.
Reza Mohammadi, Azita Ghahreman and Shakila Azizzada read at The Wordsworth Trust with British poets, Nick Laird, Mimi Khalvati and Jo Shapcott, who read her translations of Farzaneh Khojandi.
