Series: Women Poets in Translation: Poetry Translation Centre's 20th Birthday Showcase in Newcastle

Celebrate the Poetry Translation Centre's 20th birthday! This showcase will feature Diana Anphimiadi, Salome Benidze, Natalia Bukia-Peters, Helen Mort, Jean Sprackland, Mymona Bibi and many more starry names, exploring ideas of exile and arrival.

To mark our 20th birthday year, we're planning a year of events featuring some of the fantastic poets and translators we've worked with over the past two decades, returning to venues and partners we've worked with, and making new friends along the way.

The second stop on our tour is Newcastle, where we're teaming up with Out of Your Head! (OOYH!) in April and Newcastle Poetry Festival in May, as well as international partners at National Parliamentary Library of Georgia in Tbilisi. We'll be exploring women poets in translation, and the women who inspire those poets and translators. Our main event on Friday 10 May will be BSL interpreted and livestreamed.
