Join the Poetry Translation Centre in London to celebrate The Years in My Hair: 诗选 (1966–2017), the first book from our new imprint, Plutonic Press.
Spanning six decades, this selection introduces English-language readers to the work of Singaporean Chinese poet Dan Ying in a translation by Christina Ng. Her poems move between the natural world and the everyday, drawing on classical Chinese poetry and Buddhist and Taoist thought while attending closely to the lives of women.
Christina will read from the collection and be in conversation about Dan Ying’s poetry, the choices behind the translation and what it means to bring this remarkable body of work to new readers.
