My girlfriend leaves for Cancún today

My girlfriend leaves for Cancún today.
She’s scared we won’t see each other again.
We won’t see each other again, I’m certain.
Within three days of getting there
a crooked cop will take her to the border.
Along the way she will see desert flowers and lizards.
It will be a spectacular experience
and the pocket of the cop
will go home with eight hundred dollars in it.
My girlfriend started eating a guava and a tooth fell out.
Specifically, it was the molar that sits next to the canine.
Now she looks like she has a stone where the tooth was.
My girlfriend is worried about the tooth and I am worried about the border.
Teeth and borders put us on edge.
